To leverage the platform role of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao (hereinafter referred to as: Industrial Park) in promoting the industrialization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine, and to facilitate the gathering and development of traditional Chinese medicine and related health industries, the Industrial Park has specially set up a series of lecture activities called "Houpu Business School." The first session of "Houpu Business School" focused on the themes of "Practical Operations for Starting a Business in Hengqin" and "Legal Risk Prevention," which successfully commenced on the afternoon of August 16 at the Industrial Park, attracting over 40 business "students" from Macao and the mainland to attend.

"Houpu Business School" is a brand new activity platform established by the Industrial Park, which regularly provides explanations and consultations in the form of lectures and reports for a series of comprehensive issues encountered by enterprises during their establishment and development. For this lecture on starting and operating a business in Hengqin, the Industrial Park invited lawyer Lai Haijun, a partner at Beijing Dacheng (Zhuhai) Law Firm, and lawyer Niu Heming from Guangdong Junzhi Law Firm, to provide detailed explanations to investors from Macao and the mainland on how to invest and start a business in Hengqin and prevent legal risks, with strong practicality and substantial content.

Lawyer Lai Haijun specializes in corporate legal services, cross-border investment and financing legal services, as well as private equity and venture capital legal services. He is familiar with foreign investment, corporate, and tax laws and policies. He provided a detailed explanation of "Practical Operations for Domestic and Foreign Investors to Start a Business in Hengqin," covering topics such as business registration and annual inspection, tax registration and declaration, bank account supervision requirements, talent introduction, and social security protection requirements, introducing processes, costs, and precautions to help enterprises understand the policies for settling in Hengqin New Area and grasp the government's regulatory requirements for business establishment and operation.

Lawyer Niu Heming focuses on providing legal services for pharmaceutical enterprises, especially skilled in handling legal issues related to international drug technology transfer, licensing, and drug intellectual property. Lawyer Niu explained "Enterprise Legal Risk Prevention," using personal work experience and actual cases to introduce practical issues faced by companies from establishment to actual operation, covering aspects such as company establishment, operational risks, and intellectual property protection.

Representatives from participating enterprises expressed that as they initially entered Hengqin, there were many unclear processes and policies. The "Business School" is a great platform, and this theme has provided enterprises with a relatively comprehensive understanding of aspects such as establishment and operation in Hengqin New Area, especially in terms of intellectual property protection, leading to a deeper understanding that will prompt them to pay more attention to this area in future operations.
