Duang! The first class of "Houpu Business School" has started!
In order to leverage the platform role of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao (hereinafter referred to as the "Industrial Park") in promoting the industrialization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine, and to facilitate the gathering and development of traditional Chinese medicine and health-related industries, the Industrial Park has specially established a series of lecture activities under the "Houpu Business School". The first session of the "Houpu Business School" focused on the themes of "Practical Operations for Starting a Business in Hengqin" and "Legal Risk Prevention", and successfully commenced on the afternoon of August 16 at the Industrial Park, attracting over 40 business "students" from Macao and the mainland to attend.

On 23 December 2019, the GMTCM Park Incubator (hereinafter referred to as “the incubator”) passed the examination and public announcement of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and was officially conferred the title of “State-level Science and Technology Enterprise Incubator”, thus marking a new stage of industrial cultivation of GMTCM Park.

Dubai-Macao TCM Exchange Program Helps Promote Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture in Dubai
The 2019 Dubai-Macao TCM Exchange Program, co-hosted by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao (GMTCM Park) and the Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), was held at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center of the Dubai Healthcare City on May 19.

On the occasion of the “2019 Traditional Medicine International Development Forum (Euro-Africa)”, a Business Matching session was held in Lisbon, Portugal in that afternoon. Present at the event were representatives from government departments, experts in traditional medicine, representatives from business and trade sectors, and distributors, totalling 120 participants, coming from Macao, Mainland China, the European Union, and African countries. At the event, the discussions were focused on the current situation, market features, cases of international trade and registration, and relevant regulations of Traditional Medicine, food supplements, and health products in European and African countries and regions.

The ‘AMIGO – Interactive Segment among International Youth TCM Practitioners’ was held in Lisbon, Portugal on May 15 during the ‘2019 Traditional Medicine International Development Forum’ (‘2019 TMIF Euro-Africa’). About 100 young TCM practitioners, as well as representatives from government departments, industry experts and representatives from universities, were brought together from countries and regions such as Macao, Mainland China, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany, Mozambique, and Cape Verde to share ideas on the application of TCM in China and Portuguese-speaking countries and regions and to interact with international experts, thus advancing the international development of talents and the Traditional Medicine industry in a deeper and broader scope.

Hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the People’s Republic of China, and coordinated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao (‘Industrial Park’), the ‘2019 Traditional Medicine International Development Forum (Euro-Africa)’ held its grand opening in Lisbon, Portugal on 15 May 2019. During the event, the Industrial Park signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health and Social Security of the Republic of Cape Verde to expand and deepen the cooperation between the two sides in the field of Traditional Medicine.

Strategic Upgrading to Serve the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intertek Zhuhai Opens
On 21 January, an opening ceremony was held for “Intertek Guangdong-Macao Testing Services Limited (Zhuhai)” (“Intertek Zhuhai”), a joint venture co-established by Intertek, a globally leading Total Quality Assurance provider from the UK, and Macao (Hengqin) Investment and Development Ltd., in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao (“GMTCM Park”).

On 6 December 2018, Mr Leong Vai Tac, Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR government, met with Mr João Leopoldo da Costa, Vice Minister for Health of Mozambique who was recently visiting Macao. The two parties exchanged ideas on TCM cooperation of Mozambique with Macao and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao (“Industrial Park”).

On 6 December 2018, a delegation from the Chia Tai Group, a renowned Asian corporation that plans to settle in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao (“Industrial Park”), held a talk with Mr Leong Vai Tac, Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR government.
