Chief Executive Chui Sai On recently chaired the fourth meeting of the Leading Group for Promoting the Development of the Hengqin Guangdong–Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone.
The meeting discussed and examined relevant plans for accelerating the development of the Macao–Zhuhai Western Bank International Air Transport Hub (Port), and agreed to establish, under the auspices of the relevant authorities in Macao and Zhuhai, a Special Task Force on Pilot Implementation of Air Cargo Handling Services at the Hengqin Pre-Positioned Cargo Terminal of Macao International Airport. The meeting also deliberated and formulated corresponding working mechanisms to expedite the construction of the terminal and effectively implement the central government’s directives on supporting the coordinated development of international air logistics between Macao and Zhuhai.
Cen Haohui stated that the construction of the Hengqin Forward Cargo Terminal at Macao International Airport is a crucial task for the Macao Special Administrative Region in aligning with the National 15th Five-Year Plan and in serving and integrating into the overall national development strategy. He also instructed that the working mechanism of the “Special Task Force for the Pilot Implementation of Air Palletizing Services at the Hengqin Forward Cargo Terminal of Macao International Airport” be refined as soon as possible, and that all relevant departments and sectors of the SAR Government should actively participate and cooperate to ensure the smooth completion of the related work arrangements.
The members of the delegation attending the meeting included Secretary for Administration and Justice Wong Sio Chak, Secretary for Economy and Finance Dai Jianye, Secretary for Security Chan Tze-kin, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Ko Lam, and Secretary for Transport and Public Works Tam Wai-man, among others.
