The GMTCM Park Launches a Series of International Promotional Events

To respond to the national construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and to promote China’s international exchange and cooperation on traditional medicine culture and industry, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao (hereafter “the GMTCM Park”) will host a series of events launching and promoting international projects with traditional medicine as the theme. The series of events will be held in countries such as Mozambique, Spain and Belgium from 6 to 13 July 2018, so as to capitalise on the GMTCM Park’s role as an “International Window for the TCM Industry and Culture in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative”.

The “2018 Symposium on the Innovative Development and Trade Promotion of Traditional Medicine (Barcelona)”, organised by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao (hereafter “the GMTCM Park”) in collaboration with the European Foundation of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was held on 9 July in Barcelona, Spain.

“Thailand-Macao Academic Exchanges on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Free Consultation” Fostering Exchanges on TCM clinical techniques

Organized by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao (hereinafter, “GMTCM Park”) in collaboration with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor Association of Thailand, the Awarding Ceremony of the “Thailand-Macao Academic Exchanges on TCM and Free Consultation” was held on May 10, 2018 on the fringe of the “2018 Traditional Medicine International Development Forum (Thailand)”. On May 11, the “Academic Exchanges on TCM and Free Consultation between Thailand and Macao” took place in Bangkok, Thailand, in the presence of 15 TCM practitioners coming from Thailand, Mainland China and Macao who have provided clinical services to the Thai community and conducted exchanges of ideas and experiences in MTC clinical techniques.

“2018 Traditional Medicine International Development Forum (Thailand)” held on May 11, in Bangkok Leveraging the platform role as a bridge for ASEAN countries and Mainland China

Organized by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) in collaboration with the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the People’s Republic of China, and jointly co-ordinated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao (hereinafter, “GMTCM Park”) and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor Association of Thailand, the “2018 Traditional Medicine International Development Forum (Thailand)” was solemnly inaugurated on May 10, 2018, in Bangkok, Thailand. Nearly 400 guests were present at the event, comprising representatives from relevant government authorities coming from 7 ASEAN countries, having engaged in discussions and in-depth exchanges on pertinent issues, in particular the current situation and development perspectives for the TCM industry.

The Guangdong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Science Technology Industrial Park held a "Guidance Course for Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Qualification Exam"

In order to facilitate the TCM physicians (practitioners) in Macao to learn about the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Qualification Exam of Mainland China, by broadening the scope of their fields of specialization and practice, and further improve their professional competences, the Guangdong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as the “Industrial Park”) held a "Guidance Course for Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Qualification Examination " from 14 to 15 of April. A team of professors and experts were invited to deliver presentations on the details of the program and preparation for the exam. The Course has attracted about 10 TCM registered physicians from Macao.

New Policies to Promote Development of Enterprises in the Industrial Park of the New Hengqin Area

Recently, Hengqin New District launched a series of supportive policies in various fields, including industry, technology and talents, which aim to accelerate the development of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macau (hereinafter referred to as the “Industrial Park”) and promote the entry of enterprises to the park. To deepen the understanding of the latest policy by the Chinese medicine enterprises and industry associations in Macau, the Industrial Park held a policy lecture on February 5 at the IPIM’s conference hall, which received support of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), Macau Affairs Bureau of Hengqin New Area, Hengqin Bureau of Commerce, and attracted more than (TBC) representatives from the related departments of Macao SAR government, Chinese medicine enterprises, industry associations and scientific research institutes.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macau Succeeded with Registration of Two Chinese Traditional Patent Medicines in Mozambique

In September 2017, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macau (hereinafter referred to as the “Industrial Park”) assisted two TCM companies with their registration successfully in Mozambique, one of which being a TCM pharmaceutical factory based in Macao, and by doing so is helping TCM enterprises in Macao “go global” and taking every development opportunity under the “Belt and Road” initiative to expand their business in overseas markets.
