The opening ceremony of 2017 China (Macao)Traditional Medicine International Cooperation Forum, hosted by the Macao S.A.R government and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of China and co-ordinated by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macau (hereafter abbreviated as the Industrial Park)will be held at the Parisian Macao on Wednesday (Sept 27th). The event will include the founding ceremony of the Public Service Platform of the Industrial Park, the appointment ceremony for experts and advisors, and the brand-awarding and contract signing ceremony for key projects in the Industrial Park.

At this two-day forum themed “Inheritance, Innovation, and Internationalization,” we have invited 600 guests from Macao, Mainland China, the EU, the ASEAN, and Portuguese-speaking countries, including authorities from regulatory agencies, experts and scholars from research and development institutions, and senior business managers. During the forum, the guests will discuss policies, technologies, marketing strategies, and more that are closely relevant to the topics of “traditional medicine, healthcare industry, and international cooperation.” The aim of these discussions is to combine the Belt and Road Initiative and Macao’s international status as “One Centre and One Platform” to enhance international cooperation within the traditional medicine industry of the country, fully utilizing the Industrial Park as “the carrier of the traditional Chinese medicine industry and its culture in the Belt and Road Initiative.”

At this forum, several domestic and overseas experts and scholars in the traditional Chinese medicine industry will deliver keynote speeches on three major topics: the developmental environment and cooperation of internationalization, the current situation of internationalization and its policies and trends, and the technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the traditional Chinese medicine industry. On the 28th, there will be two roundtable discussions and one investment and financing forum. The themes of the roundtable discussions are, first the standardized development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry and the cultivation of major breeds, and second, the modernization of tradition medicine, the devising of new medicine, and the choices of methods of international cooperation. At the investment and financing forum, practitioners in relevant fields will analyze the investment and financing environment of traditional Chinese medicine corporations and share their experience with investment strategies and actual cases of overseas M&A by traditional Chinese medicine corporations. In addition, there will also be a project roadshow that will be commented on by experts and investment agencies on the spot in order to promote cooperation between parties seeking and offering investment.
