The 2018 Traditional Medicine International Cooperation Forum (Macao China) is hosted by the Macao Special Administrative Region Government and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and organized by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao (hereafter referred to as the Industrial Park). The opening ceremony is to be held at the Venetian Macao Hotel on the 20th of this month, with the launch ceremony of the International Youth TCM Practitioners Exchange Center of the Industrial Park and the signing ceremony of international cooperation institutions and key enterprises.
With the theme of “Development and Internationalization of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,” the two-day forum invites industry regulatory authorities, R&D specialists and scholars, and corporate executives from Macao, the Mainland, Hong Kong, the United States, the European Union, and the ASEAN and Portuguese-speaking countries. About 400 people are expected to be present. The forum will hold keynote reports, special reports, an investment and financing forum, business exchanges, a salon for youth TCM practitioners, and so on. The attending guests will discuss policies, technology, market prospects, investment and financing strategies concerning “Traditional Medicine, the Health Industry, International Cooperation, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,” aiming at seizing the development opportunities in the “Belt and Road” Initiative and Greater Bay Area to promote the moderately diversified sustainable development and regional development of Macao's economy. It will also advance Macao's construction goal of “One Center, One Platform”, give full play to the Industrial Park in the “Belt and Road” as the “international window of the Traditional Chinese Medicine industry and culture", and promote international cooperation in the traditional medicine industry.
In the keynote reports and special reports after the opening ceremony, specialists and scholars of the traditional medicine industry from home and abroad will be invited to give lectures on three major themes: policy innovation, market integration, and investment opportunities. On the 20th, the Industrial Park will also hold an exchange salon for youth TCM practitioners from home and abroad to share their experiences and seek advice from TCM masters. Business exchange and an investment and financing forum are to be held on the 21st. The exchange will focus on the international development status, market development, market supervision and other topics in terms of traditional medicine, and provide product display, technical exchanges and business negotiations for enterprises and distributors. The Investment and Financing Forum takes the form of on-the-spot roadshows. While experts in various fields and investment institutions review the projects, industrial investment funds and professional investment institutions will also conduct project comparisons and provide sufficient coverage for project parties and investors to broaden potential cooperation and utilize capital to promote the application of Traditional Chinese Medicine achievements.
The 2018 Traditional Medicine International Cooperation Forum (Macao China) is an annual brand event of the Industrial Park. Successfully held for three consecutive years, the Forum has accumulated a reputation in the industry and become an important bridge for exchanges and cooperation between domestic and foreign industries. I believe that as the content of the Forum continues to enrich and the form continues to innovate, it will surely achieve more fruitful results in deepening the international exchanges and cooperation of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
