Introduction

The “International Youth TCM Practitioners Exchange Base” was launched by GMTCM Park in September 2018 as a platform for mutual exchange and learning for international young TCM practitioners, including those from Macao. A professional team of industry experts, association representatives and business representatives has been assembled as supervisors to provide industrial development information, specialized training, professional exchange salons, practice guidance and practical training on a regular basis. Young TCM practitioners from Macao have also been invited to join its executive team and engage in its daily management, as part of the effort to help improve the professionalism of TCM talents in Macao.
Since its launch, over 20 training sessions, theoretical and practical, have been organized for young TCM practitioners, including professional TCM training, TCM in Portuguese language, and overseas free clinics, as well as four exchange salons, in countries and regions such as Zhuhai, Macao, Sichuan, Portugal, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Dubai and Thailand, receiving an attendance of over 451 young TCM practitioners and experts, including 185 from Macao.

Introduction

In order to further promote exchanges and cooperation between China, European and African countries and regions in the area of traditional medicine, as well as the deeper and broader development of the traditional medicine industry and professionals, the exchange base launched its first ever overseas project, “AMIGO Alliance”, in May 2019, with participation from 10 universities of TCM from China, Portugal, Mozambique and Cape Verde. This alliance will connect Chinese universities and professional institutions to their European and African counterparts, promote multilateral cooperation in international TCM education, mutual exchanges and resource sharing, provide more opportunities of development for young TCM practitioners from Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Portuguese-speaking countries, and push forward the international development and inheritance of TCM.
