In September 2015, the Guangdong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd. became a branch of the Hengqin New District’s Postdoctoral Research Center, focusing on the research of TCM and its related industries, and technological innovation. It is committed to cultivating high-level professionals of decisive consultative research and talents of medical technology research.

GMTCM Park recruits postdoctoral fellows from all over the country and provides them with the necessary conditions and places for research. Chosen from the expert advisory committee of GMTCM Park, foreign and domestic authoritative experts with professional advantages and rich experience in the field of TCM are recommended as their mentors, thus offering an international research and development platform to TCM talents.

There are a total of six postdoctoral fellows in the Postdoctoral Research Center of GMTCM Park, including students from Peking University and the University of Macau, among other overseas returnees with work experience. One of them successfully completed the research project and left the station in May 2019. So far, postdoctoral fellows have undertaken six scientific research projects, three patent applications are in progress with one authorized, eight postdoctoral papers have been published, two projects have been funded by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation including one first-class grant and one second-class grant, and two projects have been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
